Client: A global leader in both network & service enablement and optical security and performance products and solutions.
Current System:
- Oracle EBS 11.5.10
- Business across 19 countries.
- 29 operating units and 29 Ledgers.
- Modules: All Financials, All SCM & Projects Modules
Requirement:
- Client was migrating from Oracle EBS 11.5.10 environment to 12.2.6 environment using the Re-Implementation route.
- As a result of this initiative there was a requirement to migrate the data from the existing Oracle EBS version 11.5.10 environment to Oracle EBS 12.2.6 environment.
Challenges:
- Client had changed chart of account from six segments to 8 segments with different segment values which causes chart of account mapping a challenging task.
- Customers split and merge was done in R12 which results mapping of transactions to respective customer in R12 a critical job.
- Reconciliation of R12 converted data with 11i for 29 operating units was supposed to complete during Go-Live window.
Solution:
- Design data conversion strategy & approach and documented it in CV40 document.
- Developed Mapping logic for operating units, Ledgers, Chart of Account, Customers, suppliers etc.
- Developed automated scripts to reconcile data between 11i and R12 in short period of time.
Results:
- Successfully done the data conversion of 29 countries in single phase.
- 100% Reconciliation of converted data during scheduled Go-Live period.
